Sale of the Week

This week's sale yarn comes from Mirasol. The company, based in Peru, uses a portion of its profits to fund an educational and healthcare center supporting disadvantaged children.

Tupa, a DK-weight yarn (5.5 sts/in), is 50% Wool and 50% Silk. The deep jewel tones of the yarn have an amazing shine and drape thanks to the silk. It makes beautiful scarves, shawls and sweaters.

Tupa will be 15% off from now until November 1st.

Aztec Scarf

By now you have probably heard of Spud and Chloe, the latest line of yarns from Blue Sky Alpacas. We carry the full color range of Sweater, a light worsted machine washable wool and cotton blend, and Fine, a blend of washable wool, silk and nylon blend. Kathy recently crocheted the Aztec Scarf for a shop sample in Sweater. The colors are really wonderful and the yarn feels great.

Chirp Chirp

Cricket looms from Schacht have arrived at the Fiber Gallery. We couldn't wait to get one warped and start weaving.

Weaving on a Cricket is simple to do and fast to set up. There are some great instructional articles on the Schacht site and even a Cricket group on Ravelry. Try it out the next time you stop by the shop.

Sale of the Week

This week's featured yarn is Nordique from Classic Elite.

Created by designer, Veronik Avery, Nordique is a 100% wool, very firmly spun, sport-weight yarn. An extremely versatile yarn, it can be held doubled and used as an aran-weight. It is also one of the few yarns that is spun in the United States.

Avery has created a gorgeous book to accompany her yarn, St-Denis. The book contains a huge array of patterns including lace, colorwork and cables in sweaters, accessories and toys for men, women and children.

Nordique is 15% through October 25th.

Sale of the Week

We have created a new weekly sale to highlight interesting yarns and tools around the shop. We are starting with the latest from Debbie Bliss, Fez.

An aran-weight yarn (4.5 sts/in), Fez is 85% Extrafine Merino and 15% Camel. The camel fluffs up wonderfully as the yarn is knit creating a downy halo across the surface. It comes in 16 rich colors and we carry them all. Here at the shop Cathy is knitting the Ribbed Jacket. Please ask to touch it when you come in the shop. You will be amazed at how cushy and soft this yarn is.

Fez will be 15% off from now until October 11th.
