Not Just a Knitting Store

If you're a knitter (or non-knitter) who's ever thought of branching out in new directions, we've got plenty of options coming up in the next few months.

Needle-felting is great fun and needs no experience. In our Sculpting With Felting Needles class, February 9, we'll teach you how to make small objects like animals and flowers with unspun yarn and a needle. The options are endless!

If you've ever wanted to weave but were leery of huge looms, we can teach you on one of our 10- or 15-inch Cricket looms. A full-day introductory class is coming up on Feb. 22.

For aspiring spinners, we have a group that meets every first Friday of the month. We also offer drop-spindling classes (the next one in March), and have lovely, portable Sidekick wheels for purchase.

We also teach crochet, needlepoint and more. Check our classes page for more details, and widen your fiber horizons.

Quick Scarves on a Cricket

Cathy has been knocking out scarves at a lightning pace on our Cricket Loom. She's found there is no end to the yarns you can weave on this versatile little loom.

Cascade 128 Superwash made a plump, soft fabric.

Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock made a shifting color warp.

The elegant simplicity of Pure Alpaca is just lovely.

Chirp Chirp

Cricket looms from Schacht have arrived at the Fiber Gallery. We couldn't wait to get one warped and start weaving.

Weaving on a Cricket is simple to do and fast to set up. There are some great instructional articles on the Schacht site and even a Cricket group on Ravelry. Try it out the next time you stop by the shop.
