Sale of the Week

We have a weakness for alpaca. Its incredible softness and drape and its beautiful natural colors intoxicate us. So we were powerless to resist this latest yarn from Cascade. Eco Duo is a 70/30 blend of alpaca and merino wool. Both are left undyed and combined into gorgeous natural marled shades. Eco Duo is a softly spun singles yarn that knits up to 4.45 sts/in. Each skein is 3.5 oz. and 197 yards.

Eco Duo is 15% off through December 6.

Knit Local

You've probably heard of the movement to eat local. What about knitting local?

We are very pleased to carry yarns from Lollipop Cabin. Each skein of Lollipop Merino Superwash and Organic Sock is hand-dyed nearby in small cabin in the Cascade Mountains.

The Organic Sock is also local wool. Lollipop Cabin uses a blend of Leicester, Romney, Black Welsh Mountain and Romanov breeds that are raised nearby and has it combined and spun into an earthy, hearty single yarn.

All the yarn is dyed using collected rain water and the cabin itself is built from recycled materials. Though colorful, this yarn is really "green."

Basic Chic Hoodie

Bonne Marie Burns, the designer behind Chicknits, has a great sense for what women want to wear. Her designs are stylish, tailored and the first thing you reach for in your closet.

Her Basic Chic Hoodie is an easy knit. It's seamless and knit from the top down. It's written with a plain variation (shown above) and a lace variation (below).

You can see examples of both styles in the shop right now. Our lace version, knit by Cathy, is in Brown Sheep Lana Loft Worsted. The plain style is part of our Dream in Color/Chicknits trunk show from now until November 12. It's knit in Dream in Color's fantastic Classy, a machine-washable, veil-dyed, merino wool.

Feeling inspired? There are still spaces available in our Basic Chic Hoodie class. The class meets Saturday, November 7, 21 and December 5, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Give us a call at (206) 706-4197 to reserve your spot.
