Our Busy Spring

It's hard to keep our breath nowadays. We've been busy with all our 10th anniversary celebrations (read about our big retreat further down in the blog) and now we're heading into a couple of months of nonstop activity.
Coming up soon is the Vogue Knitting Live conference, March 14-16 at Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue. Stop by for classes, demos, fashion shows and lots more. Our booth will be full of fun stuff, including the debut of our custom Madelinetosh colorway, Greenwood.
After that, we'll be busy preparing for our annual sale, which runs April 24-27. As usual, all the yarn in the store will be 20% off, and we'll have a huge selection of clearance yarn at 40% off.
May kicks off with the Phinney-Greenwood Art Walk on 9 and 10. We'll be hosting an artist's work, as will dozens of other businesses in the area. There also will be live entertainment and wine tastings up and down the street.
The busy season winds up May 15-18 with the four-day LYS (local yarn store) Tour. This year, 25 stores from Kent up to the Canadian border will be participating. There will be free patterns and prize drawings at each store, as well as bigger prizes each day of the tour. This event just gets bigger every year, drawing hundreds of local knitters as well as visitors from around the country.

Learn to Knit or Learn to Crochet, 6 to 8 p.m. $20 plus supplies. No registration required.

Project Help, 6 to 8 p.m. Stuck on a project? Need to learn a new technique? Drop in for help. Only $5.

Saturday: Annual sample sale. In conjunction with the Greenwood Car Show, we'll be offering for sale store samples that have been discontinued. Most are sized for children or small adults. Our rear parking lot will be open for customers: Follow side streets and enter off of 83rd Street.

Sunday:  Continuing Knitting class, 10 a.m. to noon.  Contact the store for registration  information.

Learn to Knit for Kids (and parents, too), 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. $20 per person plus supplies. Get started knitting on your first, easy project. Recommended for ages 8 and up. Contact the store for registration information.

Knitalong Sit and Knit, 3 to 5. It's not too late to join our Mystery Shawl knitalong! Get the first two pattern segments and join us for socialization and help. There will be three more segments, and the knitalong concludes in August. $7 to join the knitalong.

Annual Sale Time!

You’re invited to join us April 26 to 28 as we celebrate The Fiber Gallery’s ninth birthday.

As usual, the anniversary sale will be a blowout event. Every yarn in the store will be 20 percent off. We’ll also have a huge selection of discontinued yarns at 40 percent off. Be sure to arrive early to catch the best deals. (Don’t forget, we have plenty of parking in the lot behind the store in addition to street parking.)

Hours for the sale are Friday 11-6, Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 12-5.

The sale is limited to yarn only. No needles or accessories will be discounted. Also, please note that sale purchases do not count toward the regular discount reward program.

Learn to Knit, 1 to 3 p.m. $20 plus supplies. Get going on that New Year's resolution and learn to knit. You'll be on your way within two hours! Call the store to register.

Sunday: Learn to Crochet, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. $20 plus supplies. Crochet is a great skill for knitters, and fun all by itself. Learn the basic stitches in two hours. Call the store to register.
Granny Squares, 3 to 5 p.m. $20. Bring a hook and your yarn odds and ends. Expand your crochet skills by working in circles and creating a variety of squares suitable for blankets, sweaters and scarves. Must be familiar with basic stitches. Call the store to register.
