Sale of the Week

The weather may still be wintry but our thoughts are turning to spring. Blue Sky Alpacas Organic Cotton is the perfect yarn for springtime projects. The fresh colors remind us of flowers, grass and budding trees. A stroll through Ravelry turned up some great pattern ideas.

The cowl trend is still going strong. Soon (we hope) the weather will be too warm for our woolen cowls so this Canaletto Cowl is a wonderful transitional piece for your wardrobe.

Que Sera from Knitty offers feminity with a vintage flair.

Organic Cotton is always popular for baby items. It's so wonderfully soft and snuggly. The Tiramisu blanket is a lovely yet simple crocheted blanket.

Or explore color with the Chevron Blanket from the Purl Bee.

Best of all, these patterns are all free!

Organic Cotton is 15% off through March 25.

We're very sorry that Sale of the Week has been on hiatus for so long but now it is back.

Made from the softest kid mohair we know of, blended with wool and spun into a lofty, bulky single, Cocoon is luxury and instant gratification rolled into one. We use it on our Cocoon Infinity Cowl pattern. This simple pattern is available free at the shop. Wear it as a shoulder cozy or a long cowl, it is wonderfully fuzzy and warm.

Saturday Treat

Scottish designer, Ysolda Teague, has partnered with UK yarn-makers, Fyberspates. Their line of Scrumptious yarns, a shimmery blend of Merino wool and silk, have been dyed in six colorways invented by Ysolda. She has taken these six yarns (two in aran-weight, two in sport and two in lace) and created a pattern for each. The resulting designs are fresh and playful with a sweets theme.

Moved In and Now Madrona

Life at the Fiber Gallery has been a whirlwind these past few months. We are completely moved into our new space at 8212 Greenwood Ave North and completely in love with new location. We hope you've found the new space as light, bright and inviting as we do and we hope you're taking advantage of our customer parking. The lot is located behind our building and you can enter it off of 83rd Street. Any of the spots labeled "Customer Parking" are free for your use.

New yarns, books and accessories have been flowing in. We try to keep our customers updated right away on new arrivals on our Facebook page and on Twitter.

Tomorrow we head to Tacoma for the Madrona Fiber Arts Retreat. Be sure to stop by our booth as we'll have many brand new yarns, colors and kits to discover that have not been seen in our shop before. We're very happy to have partnered with Stick Chick Knits, Hazel Knits and Dancing Sheep to offer an exclusive, limited edition shawl kit complete with Hazel Knits yarn, pattern and project bag. We will also have a shawl kits for Stick Chick Knits' new design, Hermosa, knit in Malabrigo Arroyo. There are a few more surprises so be sure to check out our booth at the marketplace.

And did we mention that we'll be sampling three flavors of Theo Chocolate too? Don't miss it.
